Delivery reliability crucial for quick delivery of material handling systems

Companies are placing ever greater demands on project turnaround times. People expect a new final packaging lines or logistics system to be up and running within a few months. This requires suppliers who deliver their components quickly and on time. Delivery reliability begins with your first contact with system integrators.   When they ask for a quote, they expect a quick reply. ‘Qimarox is our preferred supplier when it comes to vertical transport systems, which we use quite often in our projects. When I ask Qimarox for a cost calculation or quote, I always receive a prompt reply. That makes me very happy’, says Ronan Dervin, responsible for sales support at Alvey, an international specialist in industrial automation.

Jack de Nijs, responsible for engineering at Overveld Packaging, agrees. ‘We’ve been working with Qimarox for years now. Altogether, we’ve already integrated a few dozen product elevators into our packaging lines and have a designated contact at Qimarox, who knows exactly what we ordered in the past. He knows exactly what kind of product lifts we require in terms of control and safety components. When we ask for a quote, it always contains exactly the right options, and there is no need to discuss it all again and again’, according to De Nijs.

In China in only eight weeks

Many customers praise the short delivery times and reliability of the machines. According to Martijn Herder, CEO of Inther Logistics Engineering, this is largely due to the modular design of the machines.  ‘We occasionally use the Prorunner mk5, which is a great product elevator for compact spaces. Thanks to its modular design with standard components the height is easy to adjust, which allows Qimarox to offer short delivery times. We recently used several product lifts in projects in China. Within eight weeks of the order confirmation, the machines were on location, says Herder.

Especially since material handling systems are currently in great demand, delivery times can be very long. Herder: ‘Some suppliers can take up to 16 to 18 weeks, and this is only for relatively simple components. Of course, occasionally something will go wrong, but Qimarox are happy to figure it out together. I really appreciate how they’re open to feedback and then use it to improve even further.’

In accordance with agreed specifications

Overveld is also satisfied when it comes to the delivery of the machines. ‘Qimarox recently delivered another four product lifts. They were delivered exactly on time, and in accordance with the agreed specifications, which is what we have come to expect from Qimarox.  If all suppliers would operate like this all our projects would run a lot smoother’, De Nijs explains.

Leverbetrouwbaarheid cruciaal voor snelle oplevering material handling systemen

Bedrijven stellen steeds hogere eisen aan doorlooptijden van projecten. Een nieuwe eindverpakkingslijn of logistiek systeem moet het liefst binnen enkele maanden operationeel zijn. Dat vraagt om toeleveranciers die hun componenten snel en op tijd leveren. Qimarox speelt daarop in met een uitgekiend productontwerp en productieproces dat garant staat voor korte doorlooptijden. “Als alle toeleveranciers zo zouden opereren, zou dat onze projecten een stuk gemakkelijker maken.”

Een goede leverbetrouwbaarheid start al bij het eerste contact met system integrators. Als zij om een offerte vragen, is een snel antwoord vereist. “Qimarox is onze preferred supplier als het gaat om verticaal transportsystemen, die we vrij vaak toepassen in onze projecten. Als ik Qimarox vraag om een offerte of om een kostenberekening, ontvang ik altijd snel antwoord. Dat stemt mij zeer tevreden”, vertelt Ronan Dervin, die verantwoordelijk is voor sales support bij Alvey, een internationale specialist in industriële automatisering.

Diezelfde ervaring deelt ook Jack de Nijs, verantwoordelijk voor engineering bij Overveld Packaging. “Wij werken al jarenlang samen met Qimarox. Alles opgeteld gaat het om enkele tientallen productliften die wij hebben geïntegreerd in onze verpakkingslijnen. Wij hebben een vast aanspreekpunt binnen Qimarox, die exact weet wat in het verleden is geleverd. Hij weet hoe wij de productliften willen ontvangen als het gaat om besturing en veiligheidscomponenten. Als wij om een offerte vragen, staan daarin exact de juiste opties zonder dat we die telkens opnieuw hoeven door te spreken”, vertelt De Nijs.

Binnen acht weken in China

Meerdere klanten roemen de korte en betrouwbare levertijden van de machines. Volgens Martijn Herder, ceo van Inther Logistics Engineering, heeft dat voor een belangrijk deel te maken met het al genoemde modulaire ontwerp van de machines. “Wij zetten af en toe de Prorunner mk5 in, een mooie productlift voor compacte ruimtes. Dankzij het modulaire ontwerp met standaard componenten is de hoogte eenvoudig te variëren, waardoor Qimarox korte levertijden kan realiseren. Onlangs hebben wij enkele productliften ingezet in projecten in China. Binnen acht weken na de opdrachtbevestiging stonden de machines op locatie”, stelt Herder.

Met name nu de vraag naar material handling systemen groot is, lopen levertijden soms flink op. Herder: “Sommige toeleveranciers zitten al op zestien tot achttien weken, en dan gaat het nog om relatief eenvoudige componenten. Natuurlijk gaat wel eens wat mis, maar dat is prima bespreekbaar met Qimarox. Het pleit voor hen dat ze openstaan voor feedback en dat ze die willen gebruiken om nog verder te verbeteren.”

Conform afgesproken specificaties

Ook Overveld is tevreden als het gaat om de levering van de machines. “Onlangs heeft Qimarox weer vier productliften geleverd. Ze zijn op de dag nauwkeurig volledig conform de afgesproken specificaties geleverd. En dat gaat eigenlijk altijd zo met leveringen van Qimarox. Als alle toeleveranciers op die manier zouden opereren, zou dat onze projecten een stuk gemakkelijker maken”, licht De Nijs toe.
